The journey of the film began in March 2023.

Yarden Bar shares:
"I was introduced to Guy's story at the Harukan Festival — a 22-year-old 'kid' who loves anime, just starting his life, with one big dream: to go to Japan.

That dream has yet to come true.

On the morning of October 7th, while dressed in a Japanese kimono, Guy was brutally kidnapped by Hamas from the Nova party and taken to Gaza.

Guy’s story touched me — it resonated deeply with my work and daily life in a way that made me realize his moving and unique story had to be told. That, along with a sense of mission to act on behalf of the hostages and their families, drove me to action.

After thinking more deeply about it, I shared the idea with Chen, the animator and director I work with at the studio. She immediately joined the initiative. We contacted and met with Guy's rare and extraordinary family at their home. They were very moved by the idea and quickly captured our hearts. We listened to the breathtaking story of Guy, and at that moment, we knew — their voice would become the soundtrack of the film."

The work on the film lasted an entire year: we directed, designed, and animated the film with a small and talented team at our studio in South Tel Aviv. All of it was done with the full support and collaboration of Guy’s family and the wonderful community that formed around the film. Thanks to their support, this film came to life.
Throughout the year, we hoped and wished that Guy would be home by the time we finished the film.

Two years after his abduction, Guy has finally come home!
